weekend

The weekend started on Friday night. Our advent activity was to watch “Home Alone”. And this is Andrew’s consistent reaction to “Home Alone”:

He LOVES it. :)

Then Saturday was also about movies! We went to the theater to see ET! It was SO fun to see it in the theater. Andrew, again, loved it. We’ve learned in the past not to take Isaac to the movies…but we thought we’d test it out again since it had been a while, and he did great!

Though, the snacks helped…

And Sunday was all about the Christmas tree.

We went to our local “Arboles de Navidad: Fresca de la Granja!” stand, picked one out…

and carried it home.

And, decorated it!

There was some arguement about who puts the star on top. So here was the solution:

They both helped. :)

And then this happened. Which might be my pic-of-year. This totally cracks me up. :)

Then we took lots of photos with the tree.

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

This whole post seems especially awesome to me for some reason. Maybe because we did absolutely nothing this weekend due to Eric being gone all day both days. I think Home Alone is so fun and we used to watch it every Thanksgiving weekend when I was a kid. But I’m pretty sure my kids would hate it. I’m hoping they’ll go for I’ts a Wonderful Life this week, though. I’ll bribe them with cookies :)

What a great week end! Issac was good to behave during ET… quite scary no?
Can you tell me more about the shoes your boys are wearing? They are so cute! I’m always looking for sturdy shoes as Jacob seems to make holes in his in just about 2 minutes flat…

Hey Cathy! ET IS scary! I definitely teared up a few times. :)

They boys are wearing Keens. I LOVE them. They are adorable and durable. Dressy enough for school, casual enough for weekends. I think I’ll be buying them Keens for a long time. :)

I love the compromise on putting the star up. My kids argue over a certain ornament every year and every year no one can remember who put it on last year. It is always a big fight…so this year I put it on before they thought of it. ha! Your idea sounds better.

Andrew is the perfect age for Home Alone, looks like he loved it! Pleased to see Isaac has grown up enough to take the stress out of cinema trips! So many fab photos in this post.

What a festive post. I love that you can actually carry the tree home….how fun is that? Love that expression on Andrew’s face. So much merry…so much love.
