weekend

Prospect Park Zoo Aug2013-9187

Happy Late Monday everyone! Andrew is officially out of school for the year and today we started up our official summer schedule including workbook work, journal keeping, art projects and science experiments. Isaac is still in school, but this is his last week and soon he’ll join us in our summer schedule. So…it’s been a full and busy day. :)

Therefore…I’m just getting around to posting this now! Our weekend exploits! This weekend we ended up at our small local zoo.

Where Andrew smooshed a penny.

And milked a “cow”.

And where Isaac fed some sheep.

Isaac LOVED feeding the sheep.

and the goats.

and since they stuck out their tongues to get the pellets…Isaac was inspired to stick out his tongue too.

Andrew wasn’t much for sheep feeding…he didn’t want their tongues to touch him. But the ducks? Those were more his style.

On Sunday before church we took a walk through our park and I was a brave girl and got some photos of some of what goes on there.

This is the dancing lessons that seem to always be going on. With around a hundred in attendance each time we see it.

And the instruments that I-don’t-know-what-they-are.

And here’s the view from our park! Awesome!

And then…just as things were getting comfortable…look what happened!

Zaida came to play!

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

  1. AAAAAAHHHH! That photo of Isaac in the turtle shell took my breath away. I love it! All of your other photos are awesome too, and yeah, yeah, Zaida is a doll, but that turtle shell with your little man?!?! LOVE!

I’m so glad Deb loved that picture of Isaac too. I thought it was just Grandmama’s eyes! And Zaida’s feet!!!-yum. What a cutie.!

  3. Cathy says:

It’s unanimous: Isaac the turtle and Zaida’s toes are way too cute!!!!
Wow, what a view from the parc. Do you think you’ll ever get used to it?

  4. erin says:

The instrument in the middle is called an “erhu”. It is a 2 string Chinese instrument. “Erhu” means “2 strings”. I know some weird stuff.

Henry would like to type now:
    hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
