1983

My mom has been going through her old photo albums, scanning photos and from time to time she’ll send me digital copies (thanks mom!). She sent me this one a few months ago. My 6 year old birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s. :)

When I was working on this page, I was struck by how much I look like Andrew…and I usually think Andrew is *just like* Dave…in just about every way. I posted the photo on instagram, noted my similarity to Andrew, but everyone else said “nope. Isaac!” I thought I’d test it out on the boys. So I flashed them the photo real quick to see if, with a quick glance, they would think it was a photo of either one of them. And sure enough…Andrew thought it was a photo of Andrew and Isaac thought it was a photo of Isaac. Go figure.

I loved putting this page together. I am feeling really drawn to pinks and frills and hearts lately (I blame Valentine’s Day!) and I went a bananas adding glitz to this. :)

Today there is a dusting of snow, hopefully more flakes on the way, and I’m feeling cozy. Not sure what today will bring, but I’m about to find out!

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

    Cute page and how great that your Mom has sent you childhood photos – that’s so cool. I have to say I can see more Isaac than Andrew but I’m not the most reliable when it comes to seeing similarities ;o) x

  2. It’s a great layout to go with such a sweet photo. I love that each of your boys saw themselves in it.

    And…I’m thinking you are loving pink frilly stuff because of all the baby girls you seem to be surrounded with lately. I would say you need one of those, but I won’t wish that on you… {wink}

    I see Isaac in that picture. Is that red hair you have there?
