quick check in

Quick check-in today:

- The bus strike is still striking.
- I have another hour to finish cleaning my apartment before leaving to fetch my rascals.
- It takes me an hour and a half from leaving here to returning with the boys. And then once we are home, the things I need to do are endless.
- I have a thing for cinnamon toast lately. oh so good.
- Isaac blew my mind twice yesterday. Once for reciting the alphabet backwards, the other for running off his school bus unattended when the bus pulled up to the school yesterday morning. The highs and lows with that kid are pretty wild.
- I made a scrapbook page yesterday. It came together quickly and documents a super fun day. :) Love that.

- And that’s all I got. Now back to dusting. ;)

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

Robyn, dust only gets to a finite level, no-one ever disappeared under 6 foot of it! And sometimes, it’s fun to write a message for someone to find … just saying!

  2. Mama V says:

um, say what?! isaac did WHAT?! robyn? that kid is a genius!

there’s a corner in my bedroom (and nowhere else) where dust bunnies seem to accumulate so quickly and somehow become so large that sometimes i see their shadow and think jesse left a stuffed animal behind. even with regular dusting. not kidding.

We have corners like that too! I wonder if they indicate drafts or foot traffic or something. Not sure I’ve ever confused one for a stuffed animal though…you might have a particularly prolific area there. ;)

  3. Miss Vicki says:

Here’s a “one up”; we heat w/ wood so we have wood ash over everything all the time. I wonder how much we consume? Of course it’s fiber, so it’s probably good for us! For me it helps to not wear my glasses around the house :) Now, I’m off to dust! (Oh, no break in the Summer as we live on a dirt road!)
