Both of the boys have been craving time at home. They have NOT been interested in too much adventure. Projects and reading and wii and TV are more their style right now. So, we planned to have lots of time at home this weekend…with moderate success. :)
Isaac asked me to paint his feet so he could make some painted footprints.
After we stamped his feet on the paper, he painted over them with other paint. He painted orange over the red, green over the yellow and purple over the blue. It became obvious to me that he had this all planned out ahead of time with how deliberate he was about the process. :)
Meanwhile, Andrew and Dave were assembling the Space Shuttle out of tiny metal pieces.
Which they finished in pretty good time. (He has a similar model of the Brooklyn Bridge that has been kicking our butts…and he’s STILL determined that we finish it. There’s no giving up on his Borough Landmark!)
On Sunday Dave wanted to take Andrew to see Horsefeathers (a Marx brothers movie) in the theatre, so Isaac and I headed to the nearby Washington Square Park.
It wasn’t *too* cold and there was a lot of excitement about: kids playing, dogs chasing balls, a man playing a grand piano that he rolled into the park (true!!), others playing guitar….it was really fun.
Then Dave and Andrew caught up with us after the movie.
A few hours in the city and we went straight back home to soak in more home time. :)
I was *grateful* for the long weekend. Hope yours was a good one!

Hello there, Those pics you have of the boys building the space shuttle are priceless. I love the way you peaked into the room and caught the concentration on the 2 of them! I love your “weekend” posts!

I feel like I’ve made this comment before but Inive how you say “The City” as if you live on the country :). We say “The City” but at least we live in a different city :).
I *love*. Stupid autocorrect.
Today’s post makes me a long for another trip to NYC. Did you know Washington Square Park used to be a cemetery and there are still bodies buried there? I absolutely loved growing up in NYC, there is much history, and I love going back to visit now with my son and teaching him all about that famous island.
