Favorite Photos of the Holiday Season

…some from my phone, some from my good camera. some with my light set up….some with whatever light happened to be around…some with lots of forethought on camera setting…most with absolutely NO forethought on camera settings (WHY am I so LAZY about that?! yikes!). But I love this set. I love each of these shots separately and the set of the them together….telling all the stories of this holiday seasons.

When I started out this project this year, I was feeling lots of ambiguity about Christmas. I looked back at the albums I put together in the years’ past and that reminded me that each year makes their own stories. There is only so much control I have over what unfolds.

This year the story was about sisters, Santa, my Grandfather, class parties, and ILLNESS.  A mix of things…the good, bad and unexpected.  I guess, in the end…Christmas is lot like everyday life…except more so.

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.
