I’ve made over 30 quilts. That’s something I feel a mix of pride and embarrassment about. First off, that’s cool! How productive! Lots of quilts! But…it’s not really something gals my age do. I was teasing a peer once for watching the weather channel after work. Only grandmas watch the weather channel! And she said “Robyn, you go home and QUILT!” hmm. True enough. ;)
I go through periods when I think of quilting as “something I used to do”…and then the next thing I know, I’ve done it again. I’ve gone and made another one. I’ve made TWO in the past two weeks! If you had asked me a month ago, I would have never been able to predict such ferocious quilting! But here I am, on the other side of it, with two more quilts for the pile. (there isn’t really a pile…most of them are in loving homes…)
This one is a baby quilt for my friend, Caitlin, who is due in January. Her shower was on Sunday and I gave it to her then. I found these fabrics at City Quilters and thought they were perfect. I love the little birds and the teal, orange, grey colors.
And there you have it!

Well, I love weather and I’d love to be able to quilt- my attempts are rather lack lustre!
I love quilting – I know I’m a bit older than you but I did start when I was younger ;). I love quilts and would love to keep each one I make but do let some of them go to other people. My only thing is that I want the quilts I make to be used and (hopefully) loved, not kept as something “good”. I’m sure your friend’s baby will get lots of use out of the quilt you’ve made :) x
Love the non-traditional colors!! It’s very “baby quilt” but w/ unexpected colors. Perfect for the baby of an artist!! Are those orange colors the shade of Isaac’s hair?
What a sweet gift and sweet friend!!
Whhhat…30 quilts? I think that is definitely something to be proud of, no matter what your age! Makes me feel like a slacker, and I have been itching to make another quilt. After the first of the year I’m going to do it!
And I love the colors and design in this baby quilt! I’m sure your friend did too.
I love it! Amazing color choices. It’s so very girly and hip with out being pink! It’s perfect! THANK YOU!!
Love this one. Beautiful colors.
I feel the same way with all of my crafty stuff — sewing, scrapbooking, cooking.
But, I’ve decided to claim all of it and rock it!
That is a great quilt..very cool colors and not the least bit grandma-ish. Grandma’s are awesome, but….well, I hope you know what I mean.
Just beautiful!
