On Saturday Dave was at a conference, and the boys and I went to the aquarium to see their Amazing Water exhibit. (love, love, love Isaac’s deadpan in the photo above. When he was looking through the photos later, he would excitedly tell me about each one, but when we got to this one, he stared and stared having NO IDEA what the heck was going on in this photo. :) Funny kid!)

The water maze exhibit was great. We were suppose to be learning about water…but mostly we just played around.

There was a zip line to ride…and since we entered the exhibit during the very popular sea lion show…there was no one else in the water maze. So, the boys each got ride the zip line three times.

Then we walked on the beach (the aquarium is in Coney Island).

On Sunday we wandered around in lower Manhattan. We found the mural that our friend Caitlin painted of flying cows.

And we ended up in Battery Park.

(Love these two of the boys above. I love how Andrew is making sure Isaac is safe and Isaac is glad he’s there. So sweet!)

We also walked through the momument commemorating the Irish Potato Famine. It’s a really, really beautiful monument.

Hope yours was a good one…

…even if it didn’t include a few flying cows.

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

Ditto Mama V! The 3rd is my favorite too. Andrew looks more than a little aprehensive to be swimming with dolphins.

Cool, cool mural Caitlin. Sort of a Vermont dreamland in the city.

What a pretty picture of you, Robyn! Someone’s looking over your shoulder…

Ah, we just went to the aquarium today! Didn’t go in the maze because the boy was snacking and wouldn’t get out of the stroller, and we were all just tired by that point. Zip line seems cool, maybe he would’ve liked it. That last picture of you is lovely.

Loved the pictures!! Here in VT the cows are rooted on Terra Firma. Caitlin has quite a whimsical side! Also loved the picture of you!
