On Thursdays we usually get together with friends. We alternate which house we go to and the hosting family cooks dinner for the visiting family. A few weeks ago, when it was my turn to cook, everyone was lingering at my dining room table when Andrew starts asking everyone if they want dessert. With a convincing tone he explains, “They have really good cookies here!”
These cookies are pretty spectacular. They take a while to make, but if you put on a RadioLab show (I am really into RadioLab right now!) the time flies by. You start by making a chocolate dough. Then you make a simple peanut butter filling. Shape the filling into small balls, cover them with a layer of chocolate dough and bake.
It’s like homemade peanut butter cups. They are called Magic in the Middles and you can find the recipe here. You can listen to RadioLab here…and if you do both at the same time, it will make for a lovely morning.
Then your family and friends too will use their convincing voices to explain to others: “they have really good cookies here!”
