And now Saturday!
Welcome!
Made in Brooklyn is my place to document my creative journey, from bread to babies, cards to cakes. You are welcome to come and join me for a while.- I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

These are great! What is it about Week in the Life and sickness? I was CRAZY sick all day yesterday. I stayed in bed all day long except when I was up puking. So fun! Needless to say, I didn’t take a lot of pictures or get the last few days of posts up. But I feel good this morning so I hope to do at least one more post–I have a lot of Thursday pictures.
My burning questions are:
1. How much money were the boys getting out of the ATM?
2. Who is that playing Scrabble and is he playing for real? Margie is obsessed with Scrabble right now.
OH No! Susan! I hope you feel better soon! I was wondering if something was up…but I’m really glad that you are going to do another post. I’ve really enjoyed reading yours.
to answer your questions:
1. I will not disclose how much I got out of the ATM…but it was enough to pay our house cleaner and babysitter. I WILL disclose that the boys took turns pressing buttons like “English” and “Fast Cash” and “no receipt”. ;)
2. That’s Isaac with the scrabble board. He mostly just fills in the boxes with letters…occasionally he spells out his name. Yesterday he would hold up a little and make a little announcement: “10 Z’s!! 3 M’s!!”
What is it with Pad Thai? Mine are having the same cravings at the moment … I’m making it though, so I suppose it’s more kid friendly.
I hope Dave is on the mend soon – that sounds nasty.
Nearly finished Robyn – you can do it!
Amy! I’ve never tried making Pad Thai! So impressed that you make your own!
I hope Dave is on the mend soon too. :(
Sorry to hear Dave is sick. And sorry to hear you were in for another day of single parenting. You must be ready for that to end!
I love that aquarium. I wish we lived closer.
Susan, I hope you feel better soon. I know that feeling all too well lately. :(
“And sorry to hear you were in for another day of single parenting. You must be ready for that to end!” Right now…no end in sight. Luckily the boys and I are in a really good run, so it isn’t too bad. They are SERIOUSLY delightful lately (except when their wild madness comes out when skyping Tess!) and I’m grateful that things are aligning like this. Hopefully they will hold off any sort of challenging rounds of growing up until there are two healthy parents. ;)
I wish you loved closer. Lately…I wish that a lot. I WISH YOU LOVED CLOSER!
These are so awesome!!!!!!!!!! Love that you captured text messages! I am going to take your idea and screen capture a few conversations from the week too! Thanks for the inspiration! Your photos are so vibrant — full of life and fun!
Thanks Autumn!
