silly

Andrew, Isaac, you are both very silly. VERY silly. And you are silly in very different ways.

Andrew, you are over-the-top silly… always looking for sillier and sillier shtick. Sneaking in giggles whenever you can. Learning and practicing jokes over and over until you are the only one left laughing. Your silly is loud and boisterous and hard to miss.

Isaac, you’re often quiet, but when the silly comes, it comes in giant waves. I get notes home from your teachers telling me that they told one joke and you couldn’t stop laughing or saying the joke over and over. The most recent joke to get you going? “Uh Oh! Spaghetti O’s!” You delight in laughter, both your own and everyone else’s too.

I think it’s safe to say that you both are the class clowns. Two funny brothers. And although I think you learned a lot of your humor-appreciation at home (your parents can be pretty silly), this photo reminded me that it probably extends past that. We have many funny family members that are likely contributors to your silly selves. If there is a silly gene, it’s definitely present here, even among the most proper and polished members of our family.

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.
