I saw this idea in my January Martha Stewart magazine. I opened to this page, looked at the calendar for a minute, stood up and went to the computer to order some happy tape. Sometimes you just gotta act. ;)
The fiberboard is painted white and sectioned off with the tape. Then post-it’s are used for the squares. Simple and cool and reminds me of this. You know, in a crafty-homemaking kind of way.
I have Andrew’s schedule posted right next to it, on the side of a cabinet. His schedule has the same basic structure every day with a few variables that change. He’s now able to read his schedule independently and check the time on the clocks and compare it to the time on his schedule. This simple little routine sure has had a lot of bang for it’s buck.
And then, not pretty at all, but this is my scheduling workhorse. I still use one of these old school planners while the rest of the world uses electronic ones. Alas. This is where I map out my projects. Everything from appointments to muffin baking to mopping goes in here. And I don’t necessarily to get to it all, but I’m a lot more likely to when I’ve marked some time for it.
And there you have additional evidence of my neurosis. But let’s not let this get around. Ok?
