Week in the Life: Saturday

Saturday mornings Dave and I sleep in (until like 7:30/8) and the boys watch minecraft vidoes on You Tube. They like seeing what other people build. Well, I should say Andrew likes seeing that. Isaac likes watching You Tube videos of people playing Super Mario brothers. But really, it’s all about Dave and I sleeping in a litte. :)

When we turned off the TV, Andrew went right to his bridge he’s been working on and finished it up before breakfast. It’s the Sydney Harbor Bridge. And I think it looks pretty great! :)

Also on Saturday mornings, I drink coffee in bed while I place the Fresh Direct order. Fresh Direct is the company I order groceries from. I bring cookbooks and coffee to bed with me and figure out what we’ll be eating for the week.

I asked the boys to make a bed mess (which means they need to take the sheets off of their beds) so I could change up the bedding. They love making a bed mess. :)

Clean sheets going on.

And Isaac likes to snuggle in the pillows and blankets when they’re all over the floor. :)

Dave and Andrew went out to run errands and Isaac stayed home and built a marble run. He’s been doing this more and more lately. :)

They’re back and Dave treated Andrew to a new box of pokemon cards!

After lunch we hopped on the train for Manhattan.

Where we went to the Museum of Mathematics.

We loved it!  The boys geeked out for hours.

Then we went to Starbucks for a pumpkin latte for mommy and a chocolate milk for Isaac, which he drank at the bar while he waited for me. :)WITL-4-2

Us in the city.

We ordered Mexican take out when we got home and we watched Corpse Bride while we ate.

Then we called our laundry guy to come and take our dirty laundry.  The boys help drag the laundry bags downstairs.

Andrew’s been reading the “39 Clues” book series and he LOVES it.  When he finishes each one he says “I just knocked out another one!”  ha!

And that was Saturday.

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.
