weekend

untitled-3341

This weekend we drove WAY out onto Long Island (about two hours out) to a little car ferry that transported cars to another island called Shelter Island. (lots of islands!)

As you can see, the ferry itself was a highlight.

Most of Shelter Island is a preserve that is REALLY well maintained. There was even a kind woman at the information center warning us about ticks and providing insect repellent. (and I did end up picking two ticks off of each boy! YUCK!)

But we had a great hike nonetheless. The boys walkie’d-talkie’d.

and collected rocks.

and just enjoyed being in nature.

It was a great day. I love living in this area. :)

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

  1. Such great photos today, Robyn. I mean, you always have great photos, but I love the story these tell. The one of Isaac with tired legs made me LOL.
