On Saturday Dave had to work, so we played with the presents that Isaac got for his birthday. Most notably his minecraft legos and his world map puzzle.

Isaac’s been drawing different state and country flags recently. He drew the flags of Mexico, Canada and Libya on our patio with chalk and he drew Liberia’s flag and Great Britian’s flag in crayon on paper. Flags and maps are the new coconut trees and letters. :)

And when it suddenly started pouring Saturday afternoon, Isaac rushed to get his umbrella and went to sit out in it. He sat out there in the rain for a long time and when it started thundering, I finally told him that he needed to come in. But he would have stayed for much longer, if given the chance. :)

On Mother’s Day we went to a sculpture garden in New Jersey.

There were all kinds of cool and wacky sculptures around.

And there were peacocks!

Some of us were unbelievably silly. :)

And we stopped for ice cream sundaes (or…”ice cream Mondays!” if you ask Isaac), on the way home. Yum!

It was a great weekend and a great Mother’s Day! Hope you had a good one too!

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

Love, love , love the shot of Isaac and the headless sculpture and the one of the peacock in all its glory is pretty wonderful, too! Glad you had a lovely Mothers’ Day (celebrated in March in the UK).
