seeing rainbows

untitled-6583

This week flew by! But, it’s been a really good week. I got an all-clear from my dermatologist on Monday. I got great reports from the boys’ teachers at parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday. I’ve been editing a shoot I did for a client last week and my inner critic seems to be cutting me a break. (sometimes while I edit photos my inner critic can get mean!) And…I made these cookies!

I decided to make rainbow cookies around St. Patrick’s Day. And I am really pleased with how they came out. But mostly I was so happy to make them. It felt SO good to sit and decorate cookies. And as I was doing it I kept thinking “dang I like to MAKE stuff!”

It’s just good for the soul. :)

The boys were so happy when they came home to a table covered in rainbow cookies.  I keep wondering when Andrew will be too old for this kind of thing.  When will silly things that mom does, like make rainbow cookies, be not-at-all-cool?  And…well…not yet!  He still loves this kind of thing. :)  And I’m glad!  I’ll take it as long as I can get it.

We have a lot planned this weekend…starting tonight! After ballet, we are headed to a Science museum for a Spring into Science Party! Should be fun! Happy weekends to you all!

You might notice in the comments section, that I added a captcha (?) thing. SOO sorry about that! I hate those things, but my blog was spam-attacked this week and I tried a couple of other things to stop the attack, but I eventually had to put up a captcha. Hopefully it won’t deter too many compliments on these rockin’ cookies. ;)

About robyn

I stopped teaching Kindergarten in 2005 to become the mom of two crazy boys here in Brooklyn. At first I thought being a stay at home mom meant that I needed to pour all my time and energy directly into my sons, but I realized somewhere along the way that being a rockstar mom meant not only taking good care of my boys, but also taking good care of myself. And taking good care of myself means pursuing something creative...just about everyday. I started Made In Brooklyn to motivate myself in my creative goals as well as share my work with others and perhaps inspire them in their own creative journeys.

Just read this post. Sorry your blog got spammed. Sorry I complained about the captcha thing in my last comment. It’s just that I’m a captcha flunkie. This is my second time trying to publish this comment.
