My goodness it felt good to make these. Hearts and chocolate and baking and creative and oh my! I got the recipe for these guys here. The recipe has you roll the sides of the cookies in sprinkles, which I was all set to do. But for the frosting, I added real cherries, which gave the frosting such a nice speckled look, I decided no additional glam was needed. :)

And although I’m usually all for a good winter’s storm…the one were are having right now hasn’t been my favorite. It’s all snow/ice/mix/slush/schools are open/my apartment is LEAKING (yes! leaking! There are puddles in my living room and my landlord called someone who was on their way over an hour ago and has yet to show up and the wall is soft and wet to the touch! What in the WORLD!?).
even so. The snow from our last storm was still stuck to the trees and the new icy mix that’s now falling is creating these beautiful ice blossoms on the trees.
I keep getting distracted by how lovely it is outside as I clear out my living room and take up my rugs. :) Wintry mix, indeed!
