My name is Robyn and I am a thirty-something mom of two. True to my nature of being the youngest in my family, I am (delightfully) self-absorbed and have found blogging to be a fulfilling form of self-expression.
I was born in upstate New York near the Air Force Base where my dad was stationed. Being the daughter of an Air Force Officer meant that my childhood stretched across the country, most significantly in the states of Virginia and Vermont. I went to a small Christian Liberal Arts college in New England where I became enamored with the class clown, and happily married him the day after graduation. I started teaching shortly after in a bilingual program in Massachusetts spending half of my teaching time speaking in Spanish.
In 2002 we moved to New York City pursuing more education for my husband who had his sights set on becoming a Moving Image Archivist. I kept teaching until my husband finished with school and our first child was born. Since 2005 I have been home with first one, and then two, rambunctious boys. From home, I have worked on and off writing curriculum for professionals in Early Childhood Education. I have also become a baking and crafting super star.
I have been blogging now for over 4 years and plan to blog on for many more. Mostly I photograph things I’ve made in a shameless attempt to gather compliments. I write about the things I’ve made, or silly stories, or reflections on my life as a mom to some pretty incredible kids.
